Alan Zansler | Producer/Owner

A native of New Orleans, Alan studied documentary filmmaking at the University of New Orleans before beginning a career in education in the Orlando area, where he taught middle school English Language Arts. After six years in the classroom, he transitioned into teaching video production and graphic design at the high school level for another six years, a return to his creative roots that combined storytelling, visual communication, and instruction.

During this time, Alan also became an early adopter of the school district’s first learning management system, Canvas, gaining hands-on experience not only as a user, but also as an administrator and trainer. This experience helped shape his understanding of how people engage with digital learning content and instructional media.

In 2023, Alan relocated to Portland and joined Daimler Truck North America, where he worked in corporate training and communications. His work included filming and editing training videos, refining SME-led instructional content, and supporting internal and external communications through video production and post-production.

Today, through Establishing Shot Media, we work with businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, and public organizations to create clear, engaging video content. Our background in education, corporate training, and communications allows us to approach projects with a focus on clarity, structure, and audience engagement — whether developing instructional materials, internal communications, educational media, or promotional content.
